“Be A Marauder” Band Night
What:
“Be A Marauder” Band Night.
All 7th and 8th-grade band students from Lamar, Downing, and Briarhill MS will spend the evening with the Marcus HS Band, and get to experience what MHS “Friday Night Lights” is all about. Middle students will not be performing or bringing their instruments.
When:
Friday, September 9th from 5:15-9:30pm.
Attire:
New Marcus Band T-Shirt (On the way!) and school appropriate jean or khaki shorts. Comfortable athletic shoes should also be worn, no sandals or flip-flops.
Important Information:
- If you are planning on attending the football game and would like to your child to stay with you after half-time (instead of busing to Lamar) please send me an email at least 24 hours before the event so I can adjust our returning roster. If the student is staying with you at the game, their backpack and instrument will need to be picked up from Lamar by the end of the school day on Friday.
- Students may stay at Lamar until 5:15pm, or go home and come back. Dinner will be provided when we arrive at Marcus.
Details:
5:15pm: Depart from Lamar MS on buses to Marcus (student instruments and Backpacks will be left at Lamar)
5:25pm: Arrive at Marcus
5:30-6:10pm: Hot Dog Dinner for Middle School Students
6:10pm: MS students move to Marcus Cafeteria for restrooms and to meet the HS Band.
6:30pm: Walk to stadium and sit with the High School Band
8:30pm: Watch halftime show
9pm: Approximate departure from MHS back to Lamar on Bus.
9:30pm: Pick-up students from LMS.
